How to Request Shelter
ONE CHICAGO is a program adopted by the city of chicago to unite the The Shelter Placement and Resource Center connects individuals with shelter placements and provides interim basic services, such as access to food, showers, and overflow shelter. Individuals will also receive diversion assessments and diversion services, if appropriate. The SPARC can accommodate up to 200 people awaiting shelter placement.
Please note that once capacity is reached, both the day and overnight waiting areas will be closed. For shelter assistance at any time individuals can submit a shelter request by calling 3-1-1.

Rights as an Unhoused Person in Chicago
There are certain policies, rules, and regulations around the treatment of unhoused people in our City, State, and Country. Below are overviews of some of the policies which protect our unhoused neighbors from bad actors.
The RLTO Covers:
Rental units under written or oral leases, Including CHA housing, section 8 housing, IHDA housing, etc.
The RLTO does NOT cover:
Owner-occupied buildings of 6 or fewer units.
Units in hotels, motels, and rooming houses (except when rent is paid monthly and the unit is occupied for more than 32 days)
School dormitories, shelters, employees quarters, non-residential properties
Owner-occupied co-operatives and condominiums.
